ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm Lauren Killer. Yes that is my real name and I'm certain you'll find it is the only interesting thing about me.
I live and work in New York, where I moved after graduating from The University of Florida in 2016 with a BA in Theatre and other minors in the half-hearted hopes that I would be employable.
Since moving to the city, I have worked in tv and entertainment, beginning my career as a CBS page at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where -- to the delight of Mr. Colbert himself -- I became part of his on-air goodnight segments. (I've heard he's a mess since I left; will someone check on him?) I went on to work in production and manage teams of staffers at The View, $100K Pyramid, and Good Morning America. I worked in VIP guest coordination at shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live (Brooklyn) and David Letterman's latest for Netflix. I performed comedic audience warm ups for NBC's Fourth of July Fire Works and The View (where I was not hired by Whoopi Goldberg to do the job full time, but I'm told she still asks about me. To quote directly: "She's gone, right?")
I currently freelance in the production, events, and entertainment spaces, but spend the bulk of my focus creating and producing my own work. I recently ended a year long bi-monthly residency of my sketch show's run at The Peoples Improv Theatre (playing to sold-out crowds), which culminated in our featured showing at New York Sketch Fest. At the moment, I am producing live comedy around the city at venues like UCB, Caveat, Club Cumming, FREEHOLD, and anywhere else I can tell people to look at me while I speak and/or sing.
I am currently studying acting with Anthony Abeson and am an Academy student at The Upright Citizens Brigade. I am also a member of One on One NYC and have recently taken workshops with Jodi Collins and Stacy Gallo.
